"BTCDC" (Bargblor Town Community Digital Center)

Bargblor Town is a remote Liberian community of approximately 6,300 residents. It faces chronic underdevelopment and isolation, with only two working hand pumps for clean water, deteriorated road infrastructure, unreliable electricity, and widespread poverty. The educational system is severely limited by a lack of materials and technology.

The majority of youth rely on subsistence farming or overseas remittances. Without digital tools or access to training, they are disconnected from global knowledge, income-generating opportunities, and leadership development.

Green-up Bargblor Project.

A Youth-Led Sanitation and Waste Management Initiative.

"Green-Up Bargblor" is a bold, youth-led community initiative focused on transforming the sanitation and environmental health landscape of Bargblor Town. This project aims to empower local youth to take ownership of their environment leading monthly community-wide clean-up campaigns, raising awareness on proper waste management practices, and promoting sustainable behavior change. This program contribute directly to improved public health, environmental stewardship, and civic pride in Bargblor.

Background & Justification:

Bargblor Town faces growing challenges in sanitation and waste disposal due to lack of proper infrastructure, awareness, and community coordination. Waste accumulation contributes to water contamination, disease outbreaks, and environmental degradation. With over 50% of the population being youth, they represent a powerful force for change when equipped with the right tools and leadership opportunities. This project addresses these issues by placing youth at the forefront of community-driven environmental transformation.

"Green Up Bargblor Project" is more than a sanitation project—it’s a movement. A youth-powered campaign to restore community dignity, protect health, and build a culture of responsibility. Through consistent action and community collaboration, this initiative not only clean up Bargblor Town, but inspire lasting environmental change.
