"RAISE UP BARGBLOR" COMMUNITY PROJECT

Bargblor Town is a rural community located in Grand Gedeh County, southeastern Liberia, with an estimated population of 5,000 residents living across approximately 850 homes. Like many rural areas in the region, Bargblor is rich in culture and community spirit but faces ongoing development challenges that affect the well-being of its citizens—particularly youth and women, who make up the majority of the population.

Bargblor represents both the challenges and opportunities of rural Liberia. Its strong community spirit, youthful population, and agricultural foundation make it a place of great potential. With the right investment in education, healthcare, water, entrepreneurship, and youth empowerment, Bargblor can serve as a model for inclusive and community-led development in Liberia’s interior regions.

Challenges in Bargblor’s Town:
  • The town has two functional hand pumps for safe drinking water, leading to widespread health concerns.

  • Extremely poor road conditions, isolating the town from vital services and markets.

  • Severe shortage of educational materials and digital tools.

  • Poor housing and sanitation conditions.

  • Lack of reliable electricity.

  • Heavy reliance on subsistence agriculture and remittances, with limited alternative livelihoods.

Project Objectives:

  1. Equip youth and women with essential digital and entrepreneurial skills.

  2. Establish a local community tech and learning hub for access to training and internet resources.

  3. Launch mentorship circles and life coaching groups tailored to local challenges and aspirations.

  4. Support youth- and women-led business initiatives with trainings and mentorship.

  5. Foster civic leadership and community service through youth and women engagement.

This project will not only improve the quality of life for residents of Bargblor’s Town—it will unlock new opportunities for leadership, education, and innovation. By equipping youth and women with the tools they need to thrive, we are planting the seeds for generational change. Through this initiative, we will strengthen community resilience, promote sustainable development, and create inclusive economic opportunities.

  • Hosting sports mentorship and life skills workshops

  • Promoting health, peacebuilding, and teamwork through sports

  • Supporting talented youth with athletic opportunities
